Holts Lake

Every picture has a story.

Holts Lake in Johnston County lies 30 miles southeast of downtown Raleigh.

We spotted Holts Lake, a massive wetland out of nowhere. The road to this "hidden gem" was filled with inches high grasses, which created an annoying rattling sound every time our vehicle ran over it. There were several bungalow houses on our way with a sign posted, "Dogs on Duty."

However, I was drawn into the exotic beauty of the Holts Lake like a child will be drawn to a sugar candy. I kept telling myself, "I haven't seen anything like this before," and it was true.

“Once, Picasso was asked what his paintings meant. He said, “Do you ever know what the birds are singing? You don’t. But you listen to them anyway.” So, sometimes with art, it is important just to look.”

Double Rainbow

Everyone wants happiness, no one wants pain, but you can't make a rainbow without a little rain.
